Lock Information in the Title Bar and Prompt

The title bar displays the lock information, including when the lock was applied, who locked it, and the machine where the repair order, estimate, or quote is open. This helps you find the person who has the repair order, estimate, or quote open.

The following table describes the title bar of a locked ticket.
Section Description

Customer Name

The name of the customer.

Number

This is the number of the quote, estimate, or.

LOCKED

“LOCKED” indicates that the ticket is locked.

Date and Time

The date and time the ticket was locked, which is the same date and time the ticket window was opened on another machine.

User

The user name of the user that has the ticket window open. This is the user account name in the Window Control Panel of the machine where the ticket window is open.

Some shops have an administrative user configured. In this case, the user name is the same on all machines. Therefore, you need to determine who has the ticket window open by looking at the machine name.

Machine

The machine name of the workstation where the ticket is open. The machine name is the computer name in the Windows Control Panel of the machine where the ticket window is open.

Security Prompt

If you attempt to use or access a feature that is locked, the security prompt appears notifying you that you cannot edit the ticket. The user, machine, and date information in the title bar also appears on the prompt.

Managing Locked Tickets

When you open a ticket that is locked, R.O. Writer recommends that you check the title bar and contact the person who has the ticket open.

When the ticket window is closed on the other machine, it is unlocked on your machine. You can open the ticket window to see the other user’s changes.

NOTE: Whenever you open a ticket window, the data on the ticket refreshes. You are always seeing the most current information when you first open the window.
